Meet Shirley

Shirley started She's Got Drive podcast after years of coaching Black female leaders and wanting to shine a light on the phenomenal women.

Shirley Gregoire McAlpine is the Founder and CEO of Shirley McAlpine & Associates (SMA) and specialist in leadership, individual performance, personal development and the creation of sustainable Anti-racist, Equitable, Diverse, and Inclusive organization cultures with 30+ years’ working with clients in the UK, US, Europe, and Africa. Shirley conducts her work from her passion for growth and development, where people are thriving, creating, and living their lives by design.

Shirley started She’s Got Drive podcast after years of coaching Black female leaders and wanting to shine a light on the phenomenal women, like her clients, who constantly inspired her. “We are our ancestors’ wildest dreams”, and Shirley feels profoundly privileged to be able to interview her guests and share their powerful stories.

In her solo episodes, Shirley offers her many years of coaching and consulting experience and expertise with executive professionals to her listeners, providing guidance, insights, tools, and good practices with energy and passion, putting them fully in the driving seat of their lives.

She’s Got Drive Podcast was voted as one of the ‘Top 20 Podcasts for Black Women’ by Black Enterprise in 2019, and one of the ’10 Best Long-Form Interview Podcasts’ by Screen Rant, 2021.

Shirley offers her many years of coaching and consulting experience and expertise with executive professionals to her listeners, providing guidance, insights, tools, and good practices with energy and passion, putting them fully in the driving seat of their lives

Shirley is PCC accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and Faculty on one of only 50 fully accredited ICF programs globally. She is trained in Hellinger’s Systemic theory, EQ, Gestalt, and an accredited Intercultural Development Inventory Assessor (IDI). Over the years her diversity work has included supporting the launch of the Soros Equality Fellowship, coaching Fellows who are leaders influencing the racial justice field. In 2017, she designed and chaired the very first ‘Inspiring Black and Asian Leader Windsor Leadership Program’ delivered at Windsor Castle and was the Chair of EmpowHER Network at the Historic Apollo Theater.

Married to Dan, with two teenage children, Honor and Ethan, Shirley and her family live in Chicago, IL having moved from London, UK in 2013.
